5th Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition for Students of Textiles
To commemorate the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Kasthuri Sreenivasan Culture Centre and in memory of our Founder Trustee Shri Kasthuri Sreenivasan, an InterCollegiate Quiz competition exclusively for textile students was conducted in the year 2013. As the response was good, it was decided to conduct the quiz biennially. The 5th Quiz programme will be conducted on Saturday the 17th September 2022.
Each team should consist of two students from the same College.
Group I – 3rd year students of Diploma Courses in Textile Technology/Fashion Technology/Apparel and Garment Technology.
Group II – 3rd & 4th year students of Degree Courses in Textile Technology/Fashion Technology/Apparel and Garment Technology.
Each college can nominate a maximum of five teams including all their departments.
Replacement of any participant or interchanging of team members will not be entertained once we receive the registration forms.
The rules of the quiz are subject to review and the decision of the adjudicators is final.
Detailed brochure will be sent to you by end of this month. As a move to motivate & enthuse students of Textile Technology, this event is being organised and there will not be any entry fee. Each institution can send five teams for this programme.
An enrolled team in each group will first undergo a qualifying round separately which will be in written format. They will have to take objective questions with multiple options to be answered within a prescribed time limit. From this round, six teams in each group will qualify for the quiz finals.
The finals shall have 10 rounds of questions for each group including an audio round, a picture identification round, logo identification round and rapid-fire round. Questions for the quiz as well as written test qualifier shall be drawn from different functional areas of textiles namely, raw material, spinning, weaving, knitting, non-woven, chemical processing, garmenting, operational measures and textile engineering.
Competing teams will vie for the “Kasthuri Sreenivasan Shield” which will be awarded to the 1st prize winners of each group.
First 3 Cash prizes for each Group:
Group I – Rs.20,000/-, Rs.15,000/- and Rs.10,000/-
Group II- Rs.25,000/-, Rs.18,000/- and Rs.12,000/-
All finalists will get two years free subscription for a textile magazine, Spinning Textiles.
