3rd Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition for Students of Textiles
To commemorate the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Kasthuri Sreenivasan Culture Centre and in memory of our Founder Trustee Shri Kasthuri Sreenivasan, an Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition exclusively for Textile Students was introduced in the year 2013. Enthused by the overwhelming response from the Academic Institutions, we have decided to conduct this competition once in 2 years.
As per the feedback obtained from the students after the 1st quiz programme, it has been decided to conduct two quizzes, one for Diploma Students and the second for Degree students. Accordingly, we conducted two quiz programmes in September 2015 with your support. Now, we propose to conduct the 3rd quiz programme in the same manner on 23rd September 2017.
It is proposed by our coordinating committee that 3rd year Diploma students studying textile related courses in Polytechnic Colleges will be covered in Group I. Under Group II, students pursuing their 3rd & 4th year in Degree courses of Textiles/Fashion Technology/ Textile Chemistry / Textile Engineering will be covered. TexQuiz programme will be conducted separately for Group I & Group II.
Detailed brochure along with registration forms & posters will be sent to you by end of this month. As a move to motivate & enthuse students of Textile Technology, this event is being organised and there will not be any entry fee. Each institution can send five teams for this programme.
An enrolled team in each group will first undergo a qualifying round separately which will be in written format. They will have to take objective questions with multiple options to be answered within a prescribed time limit. From this round, six teams in each group will qualify for the quiz semi-finals.
The semi-finals shall have eight rounds of questions in different formats. Two teams in each group get eliminated from this round and only four will make it to the finals. The finals shall have 10 rounds of questions for each group including an audio round, a picture identification round, logo identification round and rapid-fire round. Questions for the quiz as well as written test qualifier shall be drawn from different functional areas of textiles namely, raw material, spinning, weaving, knitting, chemical processing, garmenting, operational measures and textile engineering.
